The Issue

Many people all around you are hurting. Consider the following statistics:

• 25% of all women have been sexually abused
• 30% of children do not have a father's name on their birth certificate
• 35% of women and children have faced physical abuse
• Alabama's prison population ranks fifth in the nation
• 50% of those whose parents succumbed to the temptations of drugs or
  alcohol will do the same - by the time they can drive a car.
• 55% of prisoners return to prison within three years
• 80% of those who serve prison time are arrested for minor and major violations
